Tracy's Story

When I think back to high school, I would dearly love to go back in time and do it all over again. I was so introverted it was painful. But then I quit high school in 77/78, and went off on my own for a year and worked harder than I had ever dreamed! I made a lot of mistakes, and life seemed so pointless and empty and realized that I needed to get back to school and finish it if I was ever going to get on with my life. I came back to high school in 78/79 and I did finish. I made some very big mistakes that year, and thankfully I am still alive to talk about it. I became a Christian my last month of high school, and my life has never been the same. I moved to Cranbrook the day after graduation and lived with my sister for the summer. I got involved with a College group there, and had some very dynamic leadership to help me sort out some of the confusing teen years. When I was 22 I headed to college in Alberta, and 4 years later graduated with a bachelors degree. I stayed on staff at the college, and 2 years later, I met and married my husband Bryan. He is from the States, so I went through the process of becoming a landed immigrant, and 5 years later a US citizen. We have 3 beautiful kids. one year left. I home schooled my kids for 10 years and when Sean asked about chemistry and physics, I told him "There's the school!" I think by teaching my own children, I learned more than I ever did in school. (or maybe I should say, just appreciated it more) My husband Bryan works in our business building cabinets and custom furniture. I work as a special ed teacher in the public school, and also as a life guard and am a certified water safety instructor. Life is very busy, but I love it that way. Over the years I have met some amazing people, some nice, some not so nice, but I have learned much from them all. I would love to go back in time and make a lot of changes, be kinder in high school, more willing to risk being myself, but then, as my husband wisely said, the life I lived back then has made me into the person I am today. The mistakes and victories all add up and make us into the people we are now. I love my life now. There is so much to do, so many people to meet, and so much to learn! So much to share here, but not enough time. I would be happy to talk with any and all. I pray that your life has been as full as mine has been. Take care and I would love to hear from you all. Blessings....If you want to find me on Facebook, look up Tracy Myers in Wyoming. Love to see you all there!
