Patricia's Story
Life
I left school and moved in with my boyfriend (Hugh Little), got married and had two children, Jeremy and Melissa. Divorced when my husbands alcohol problem got out of control.
I was out one night and ran into Scott Forbes (whom I thought had died of cancer two years earlier) we fell in love almost immediately. We were married the following year (July 13, 1985) against my family's wishes because of his cancer. We were together until his death (Jan. 17, 1993). He was my biggest support when I went back to school to take tech classes that I was not permitted to take in the 70's.
Shortly after he died I went to college and graduated with a diploma in Architectural Technology. I am now married to Earl Utley in Waterford, Ontario. I was designing and drafting custom homes from my home office while working at the Prodesk ...Expand for more
at the Brantford Home Depot, then Rona in Simcoe, and last the Turkstra Lumber in Brantford. Often times Earl actually framed some of the homes I designed. With the new Bill 124 put through by the government I quit working for other people so I could study for exams required for me to continue my own business.
My son has five sons and three step sons. He's is a licensed welder, worked in commercial masonry, and framed houses. He can be a wild one at times but has a huge heart.
My daughter graduated from Western University and Mohawk College. Since then she got a job with the CAS and got married to a boy in Dunnville. They have two sons.
Life has been a struggle and still is. As I try to work my way into successful self employment and out of a large corporation. If nothing else my life has never had time to be dull.
