Valery's Story
Life
Time sure has flown by since the GMA days. After undergrad (was it really over a decade okay? yikes...) I was in Miami until moving to London in 1998. After London, I moved back to Miami for a bit before heeding the call (go west, young man, go west) and moving to California in 2000. I now live in sunny SoCal with my girlfriend.
School
High school and undergard seems like ages ago so most of my memories are pretty hazy....but here's what I do remember: left GMA in 1991 and after an exceedingly brief summer started at UM that same fall. I graduated in 1996 with a Bachelors of Architecture degree from the University of Miami and got my Masters of Architecture from UCLA in 2002.
Workplace

ld and became a bag boy at Publix supermarkets. While it was a tough decision to abandon a career in produce transportation, I left the bagboy life to work at Miami City Ballet when I started college. After working my way through school at the ballet I began my architectural career in earnest and have never looked back since. I worked at architectural firms in Miami, London and California and have been lucky enough to work on projects in a number of different places. Opened up my own design firm on a wing and a prayer at the beginning of 2006 and have been enjoying the ups and downs of being my own boss during the past year and a half or so. It hasn't exactly been a piece of cake but I wouldn't have it any other way (well, except it might be nice if the checks from the clients arrived more frequently!).
