Vanessa's Story
Life
well, in high school i went from having a somewhat awkward social life, in college and grad school i had too much of a social life, and now i have zero social life unless you count hanging out at the park watching my 3 year old entertain the other little kids with her silly dances that she made up all by herself. i'm thinking about going back to waiting tables. seriously...you bring people food and drinks, they give you money and you're done with your job when you leave work. much unlike my current career where i can never seem to get away from paperwork and phone calls to insurance companies asking why they haven't paid me for the work i did 3 months ago yet. i really love the counseling part of my job, i can't stand the bureaucratic part, which is a shame. i think i should be able to tell people how ...Expand for more
to live their lives and then have their insurance companies ask me when i can see them again next. lol! wow, i am so turning into a polish boska. does anyone else feel as old as i do right now?!?!
College
graduate school: cried my way through the first year and drank my way through the second, and i was still one of the more normal people in my graduating class. some people say that they've never met a shrink whose life wasn't more f**ked up than everyone else's...i can't really comment on that comment. ;)
Workplace
i'm a shrink. can't really divulge much more information about that as it might be unethical and against HIPAA regulations. although, i will say, that there are a LOT of REALLY CRAZY people in the world. ;) when you work in the emergency room for 5 years, nothing shocks you anymore.
