Vatan's Story
I guess with old age and time to reflect, comes old memories that turn our thoughts to “I wonder what happened for them”. Not that it is any business of ours, but curiosity grows in the knowledge that life can be so random. So from one who wonders to one who may wonder, this is what happened to me.
I am embarrassed to say (but so grateful that it was) for me life was filled with good fortune. From high school to college to Australia; there to learn the family business of fur trading. Landing in July of 71, I am still here and call Australia home. Not continuing in the family tradition, I spent a couple of years traveling Australia, doing odd jobs, ie door to door selling, wine waiting, scrubbing pots and pans and working in a rubber factory. table. Started a family and took up my profession as a company accountant. Three sons later with the last leaving the nest in say 2002, brought what you would call a ranch and grew beef cattle and some sheep. That has been sold and now living in a nice rural area 20 miles from the coast, the weather very similar to Miami. My time now is doing what I please to some degree. I do odd farm jobs for the neighbour, traffic controlling on the roads, break in horses to sell on, read and writing and going to the gym helps fill out the days. I am lucky, with one son and family living in Brisbane an hour south of me. One son and family live in Calgary, Canada and the youngest lives in NYC. I get to North America every couple of years to see my sons and brothers and sisters (7 of them) who are all alive still. If you happen to be coming this way let me know. My best to you all. Vartan
