Vaughan's Story
Life
Married with one kid...living the typical suburban life. Majored in accounting in college (UVA) and have been working in the field ever since. Met my wife at work...we don't work together now. Life is a blessing. With my various jobs since high school, I've traveled alot. Furthest trip so far has been Hong Kong...that was a 14 hour flight! Prefer traveling with my family though.
School
CCHS was fun! I wouldn't do it over again...learned too much in life to ever look back. But it was great. Made great friends; had good, caring teachers. I had such a nerdy image...but that was ok with me. That was what distinguished me from the crowd and I've always been happy to not just be part of the crowd. Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Young were big influences in High School.
Happiest memory was graduation and just about all of senior year.
I remember lots of fun moments throughout...and some of the awkward, not so fun times also...just growing into my own person.

College
UVA was like a different world compared to CCHS. Extremely diverse. Met some great people. Worked hard. UVA helped me grow up quite a bit. Also started learning that life isn't all a bowl of cherries...filled with ups and downs that you have to be able to handle.
Workplace
CPA and Certified IS Auditor...From grocery store bagger (1st job at Chuck's during summers in high school) to different positions at Jefferson National Bank during summers in college. Started accounting career with internal audit internship at Heilig Meyers after my 3rd year at UVA. Started full-time professional accounting career after graduation. Worked in Big 5 (now 4) public accounting firm for 10 years...doing financial and IT auditing for many companies. Now doing internal audit...directing both financial and IS audit teams. Traveled alot...many states across US and also to Canada, China, Hong Kong. Worked with very diverse groups...learned and still learning alot!
