Velda's Story
Greetings to all:
I do hope all is well and everyone reading this bio are blessed and fortunate to be where they are at this junction in their lives. For me at this point in my life I'm truly blessed. I attened and graduated from Wayne County '(Associates in Liberal Arts), Eastern Michigan (Bachelor's in S.W) and Wayne State University enjoying what I love empowering people as a social work. I've done advocacy work for the state of Michigan & Ohio on behalf of children and seniors, develop and revitalized neighbhors funded by HUD to revitalize housing on the south end side of Albany, NY and worked on a national research study for domestic abuse. In addition, wrote a journal entry on the economic shortage of nursing homes in the city of Detoirt.
To date, no children but have a niece and nephew who are the sparkle in my life. They are literally my joy & pain. Most of my family still reside in the metropolitan Detroit area so I trek it back home twice a year generally around Me...Expand for more
morial Day and the Thanksgiving holiday. Would love to share a cup of java or even network durng one of my trips to catch up on times with like minded individuals.
Current endeavors:I'm now residing in the Tampa Bay (FL) area working for a Fortune 500 company (government sponsored health insurance company)working as a Sr. Network Manager. I continue to work on my side hustle as a contracted consultant providing public speaking engagments to under/graduate level social work students on various topics and empowering young minds in the Bay area on acheiving their highest potential.
Within the next five years... I hope to either finishing up a doctorate in clinical psychology or at least taking my public speaking skills to the next level.
My lifes motto: "It's not where you start but how you end, as life is not a destination but A journey." ~author unk. With that said, I wish you all the utmost success and all of God's blessings your little heart desire's.
Kindest regards...
~Velda
