Vernon's Story
Life
After graduating high school I worked for a while then joined the military the following year. I recently retired and now I am working as a data analyst for a military project for the U.S. Marines in California. I'm married to a member of the navy and have two stepdaughters (18 and 25). The youngest is enrolled in college on an athletic scholarship.
College
On college I obtained my associate's degree while serving. One of the best things that I did. Just wish that I'd had started it a lot earlier than I did. I recently graduated from the Advanced College of Technology earning a certificate. I am planning on pursuing my bachelor's degree as time permits in information technology. Learning is cool but only if it is applied.
Workplace

downtown until I joined the military. Now I'm retired from the military but still working for them in a civilian role. My current job is data analyst as I am privileged to help them transition their current intranet structure to a newer system. The best part of the job is when things go right and customers are satisfied. However I am looking forward to being on the technical side rather than the administrative side of the information technology business.
Military
The greatest part of my life as a member of the U.S. Navy was travelling to new places. I enjoyed travelling and living in such countries as South Korea, Japan, Spain, Thailand, Hong Kong, Philippines, Italy, Guam and Morocco. In the U.S. I was stationed in Charleston, South Carolina, Pensacola, Florida and San Diego, California.
