Veronica's Story
Life
In 1967 I graduated from Madison High School in Houston Texas. However, I also attended Jones High School ( my sophmore year) and Bellaire High School ( first semester of my junior year). Met the love of my life at Bellaire, but alas, I was not the love of his life. So sad, but life goes on. LOL
Life played out much differently than I expected after high school. I did not attend college, but rather married at 19 and later had two children. Now have a son and a daughter who have promised to put me in the finest nursing home Friendswood has to offer when the time comes. Frankly, I suspect that they think the time is here now ! But I DO NOT AGREE ! I have at least another year or two before that time comes.
I was married twice, each time for about 15 years. Have been single for about 10 years now. I have no hard feelings for either man, and remain friendly with both. As Forrest Gump says, " That's all I have to say about that. "
Was a slave of Southwestern Bell for about 33 years , retired about 3 years ago, took a year off to recupperate, and for the past 2 years have been working for a financial planner in Pearland. My title is "administrative assistant" which we all realize is code for secretary. I enjoy the work, and the people, and the office is just a 10 minute drive from my home.
A FEW VERONICA FACTS
I live in Friendswood with my three cats. They are most grateful for the lavish lifestyle which I provide for them. I know this because from time to time one of them leaves me a little "gift" r...Expand for more
ight where company might spy it... You know...a nice juicy roach that happened to get too close to the door sill, a bit of cat puke, or some other equally delightful item. Yes indeed, we live the good life here in Friendswood, TX.
My brother, David, passed away about 14 years ago. I adored him, and miss him still. Some of you may have known David. He was about 6 years younger than I, and about a foot and a half taller. ( He was 6' 9" tall !) David had a wickedly delightful sense of humor. Sadly, he passed away when he was only 39. He died of complications due to AIDS. Yes, he was gay, and we loved him just the way he was.
OK... here is one more. Last January ( 2008) I participated in the Houston Aramco Half Marathon. I walked 13.1 miles, and it was one of the most enjoyable things I have ever done. I had a ball. In February I walked in the Surfside Marathon and in March, Angie's Half Crazy Half Marathon. No, I am not some kind of health freak... I just enjoy the exercise, being outside, and the good company of my walking friends. The only tough thing is getting out of bed at 4am on a cold, Saturday morning to walk several miles.
That is all there is for now. Will add some more when I have more stuff to tell. Who knows ? I just might be famous one day ! Would be so sweet to sit down at a slot machine in Vegas ( love the place !) and win the mega jackpot. Can you just see it? Veronica Grieger on the Good Morning America show telling my story to the world ... Yeah... that really would be sweeeeet !
