Veronica's Story
Life
I'm still living in Brawley. Armando Limon and I just celebrated our 35th anniversary this past Feb. 1. We have 3 daughters and 1 son. Our oldest graduated from BUHS in 2004. She graduated from Bryman College in July of 2006 as a Dental Assistant. She is working as a Registered Dental Assistant for the Clinicas de Salud in Brawley. My second daughter graduated from Desert Valley High on June 11, 2008. She just recently went to college at Kaplan College in Palm Springs. She studied Massage Therapy and is now a Certified Massage Therapist. My third daughter graduated from BUHS in 2011. She also just graduated from IVC with distinction. She is studying sign language and wants to continue her studies in San Diego. My son is now a Senior at BUHS. He is a 4.0 student with an interest in video games and computer programing. I have been working for Westmorland Elem. for 17 years. I also worked for IVC for 12 years but I'm not there any more.
Many people may remember me as the quiet girl in class. Or they might not remember me because I was so quiet. Well, I'm not that quiet girl anymore. If you ask my coworkers, I enjoy laughing and joking with other people. I now have a loud voice, which I often use with the students. And I love to have fun, which I was not able to do when I was in High School.
I love to draw, so lately I've been painting and drawing with pastels. I also like to write short stories and poems, so
maybe some day I'll be able to write a children's book or a book of poems. We'll see.
We celebrated our 25th Anniversary by renewing our vows. It was a wonderful and fun day. Glad to have had the whole family there with us. Especially my children.
No grandkids yet. Just celebrated our 29th anniversary this past Feb.

Our first grandchild. I’m still working at Westmorland School although it is virtual teaching. Armando and I will be celebrating our 35th Anniversary on Feb. 1. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years since we renewed our vows.
Another year has passed. Today is Jan. 17, 2022. My granddaughter is now a 1 year old. Just started walking 5 days ago. My daughter is expecting her 2nd child, another girl. Can’t wait for our second grandchild. She is due in about 7 weeks. Two of my daughters are working with me at Westmorland School. I can’t believe how time has passed so quickly.
Today is May 30, 2022. We now have two granddaughters. One is 1 yr 5. mo., the second is 2 1/2 mo. Enjoy being a grandmother. Mando loves spending all his spare time with the babies. I can’t believe it’s been 40 years since we graduated.
Unfortunately I have some bad news. My dad passed away 6 weeks ago on July 31. A difficult time for me and my family.
6 months have passed since my dad passed away. It is hard to believe that he is gone but we are all coping. Mando and I just celebrated our 37th anniversary on Feb. 1. We had a great celebration this past Friday, Feb. 3, 2023. Our oldest daughter, Erika, got married. We had a wonderful time.
The years have passed so quickly. We now have 3 granddaughters. The oldest is 3 1/2 years old, the second is 2 and 4 months, and the baby is 8 months old. My youngest daughter just got engaged a few months ago so here comes another wedding in about a year and a half.
July 25, 2025. Our family continues to grow. Our youngest daughter got married last December and she just had a baby last week. It’s another girl. We now have 4 granddaughters.
