Vicki's Story
I married my highschool sweetheart,
David Cox, we've been married for 37 yrs. We have two children, David Jr. 36 yrs. old, and Jessica 32 yrs. old.
We have 4 grandchildren. David Jr. and
Annette have to kids, Lyndsie 12, and
Wyatt 9. Jessica and Joe have 2 kids,
Autumn 6, and Jo Jo 5. We all live in
Crawford County, English,In. within just a few miles from each other. We
moved here Dec. 1980. We have done everything from Antique refinishing when we first moved here, we've had an
exotic animal park (which was my favorite) I loved raising the baby lions, tigers, baby monkeys, and baby
black bears. We would go to schools and give educational talks on the different animals. We had over 50 big
cats, 75 or more monkeys, chimpanzees,
zebras, camels, kangaroos, you name it
we had it. When we closed the animal park we kept the monkeys for several
more years before finally getting rid of them. We've had a used car lot,
we've done animal control for the county for about 4 years complete with
an animal shelter, I liked doing that.
I love anything that has to do with animals. Now David and David Jr. are
commercial fishermen.Our business is Midwest Caviar.We catch the fish and process caviar. We've been doing that for 10 years. We process caviar and send it all over the United States and export to Russia. It is a 6 month job. From Nov.-April. After caviar season is over we leave for Florida for ...Expand for more
4 or 5 weeks. Pole and line fishing on lake Okeechobee. We are big in our church, and me and David spend most of the time doing benefit fish frys, for fund raisers and cancer benefits. Our summers are usually filled every weekend doing a fish fry. We built a new home May 2006, after living in the old house for 26 years. My sister Becky lives in
our old house, which is still on the property. We have recently opened a Custom furniture shop, we make furniture and refinish antiques. I had a childcare business for 6 years. We used the building I had for my daycare and remodeled it for a showroom for the furniture and antiques, hope it goes over good in English.
Thats about all I've been up to in my life. It's been a pretty fulfilling and interesting life. Never a dull minute around here. Something is always going on. I almost forgot we have a Mexican Import business, David goes to Mexico and brings back pottery, and iron gazebos and different things. I raise Jack Russells and Pugs. I have two minature horses, well one minature and one dwarf minature. We have probably 30 or 40 deer. We have follow deer, sika deer and whitetail deer. We raise them. Like I said it's never dull around here. I almost forgot I have 2 african greys, Smoke and Zippy. they are almost 2 yrs. old and are talking very good. Me and David are in to NASCAR, our man is Tony Stewart. Can't wait until it's back on again.
