Vicki's Story
Well, its been a while since high school but I went on to a degree in Business Management(86)and then a degree in Law(89). In Sept '89 I was married, sworn in as an Attorney and moved to Delhi, Louisiana with my husband, Lester Cruse. We live at 206 Cedar Lane.
Lester is a first cousin to our classmates, Kevin Roberts '82 and Lori Roberts Miller'80.
I started practicing law in Rayville, La. then later moved my practice to Delhi when we opened a charter school. I closed my practice in 2006 as a result of a thyroid health problem. Though the problem is now mostly under control, I am enjoying being a mom & wife since my long work hours made it harder when the kids were young. I found out that I could actually cook, who knew?
I recently celebrated my 20th Anniversary with Lester. We have lived all our married life here in Delhi.
I have two children, Les(18)& Chelsea(17). Les is a freshmen at LSU in Bio-Chemistry and Chelsea is a Jr. at Delhi Charter School where she is on the danceline. I am so very proud of both of my children and the accomplishments they have both made academically, spi...Expand for more
ritually and personally. I have been truly blessed to have 2 such great children.
We are members of Delhi Presbyterian Church though I grew up mostly at North Monroe Baptist and therefore refer to myself as a "Baptaterian" We go to church with former classmates Shari Dupriest McEacharn ('81), Brant Mathieu('80) and Cindi Nicklas Mathieu('81). Brant & Cindi have lived the last 20 years right across the street. The world really is a small place.
I made both my 10th and 20th reunion although I think I would enjoy a reunion between the classes of 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1983. This way a lot of the choir members we knew for years could be caught up with.
The person I keep up with and can't live without is Claire Bennett Harrell who lives in West Monroe. We talk a good bit, text a lot and get together at least once a month for a girl day.
I am going to try and add some photos in the next week or so. But I must confess that I do not get on the computer every day, I don't check my email everyday, etc. I am not computer stupid I just have too much to do to worry with checking everyday.
