Vicki's Story
Life
We recently relocated here to NE Texas, built a home and retired.
My Kids:
My oldest son is in Arizona, divorced after 10 years, then got involved with a beautiful girl and they have a beautiful baby girl. He is a heavy equipment operator. My daughter, Jenny and son-in-law, John, live nearest to me, here in Texas. John & Jenny have two adorable little girls, Kennadi is 5 and the baby, Aubrey Adda Lucille, named after my late mother, will be two years old in October, 2008.
John has returned from his second tour in Iraq, and is back home trying to get his life back to some sort of normality. I know the girls love having their daddy home, and I am glad for all of them.
My youngest son, Joseph is married, has a little ready-made family, currently in the Air Force and is making ready to move his family to Portugal, Spain, (the islands). We just went to Biloxi, MS to visit before they leave for the Azores Islands. They have two girls.
In all I have 3 granddaughters and 5 step-granddaughters.
My husband has two sons, one lives about 60 miles from us in Louisiana, has three beautiful daughters from age 23 to 17, and the other son is in Dallas, no children. He has a career and loves it in the city.
Recently, my daddy passed away from pnuemonia, and this has been terribly hard for me, and my brother, as well as my step mother and the rest of the family. My daddy's sister, my Aunt Susie is taking it rough as well.

is in Northern Arizona. He recently went thru an ugly divorce, but has someone new and wonderful in his life now. I bet there will be wedding bells in their future.
My Pets
I still love horses.
We have two horses: One is a Paint horse in Quarter Horse pajamas, (he is breeding stock paint) which means he did not get the white markings. (I call him my paint that ain't!) He is black until he stays out too much in the summer sun, and he fades.
I recently got my new ride: A big Sorrel Quarter Horse that I absolutely love. He is very laid back and pretty much easy going. I changed his barn name from Racer to Pokie Racer, and am in the process of changing it again to High Horse! He is way up there when I go to get on him, or else I shrank! We have two cow-dogs, Lady and Smut,(blue heelers) and a worthless, part-time barn cat we call him 'Socks'.
I gave up barrel racing to avoid back surgery and for the most part get by without any pain. It just was not worth the pain. We just trail ride now-a-days and I am okay with that.
We still have our wagon, but have sold the team of mules. Our mules worked well, but had ugly ground manners. We may never buy another team of mules for the wagon, as a good team is hard to find. If someone has a good team, they do not want to sell them and I can understand why.
