Vicki's Story
Joplin is still picking up the pieces and I expect they will be for a long time. Here are some stats that a friend just sent me.
Damage estimates. 3 BILLION dollars
Cubic yards of debris removed - 597,500
Cars destroyed - 18,000
Homes destroyed - 6,954
Jobs affected - 5000
Injuries - 1,150
Homes damaged - 875
Businesses affected - 500
Deaths - 155

dn't believe the death toll was only 155. From the way it looks - it should have been in the thousands. The day after the tornado I couldn't get to work, they kept detouring me away from the hospital.
