Vicki's Story

I have lived my life to the beat of my own drum. I never stole, cheated or robbed anyone. I have so many memories to keep me company from all the places I have traveled and people I have met. Life has never been easy for me growing up in my family, leaving my beloved school of my childhood and going on to Jr. High and High School at Farwell or finding my place in the world. I think of my friends that also went to Farwell with fondness. I remember conversations we have had and get a smile on my face. Some of us did not become friends until long after graduating for one reason or another. There are those that I miss to this day and wish that we could have stayed close over the years. I remember those who have passed from this earth far too soon. Today I keep busy with petitions and calls to legislators on environmental, human rights and other issues we are faced with today all around the world. My husband and I live a chemical free lifestyle and try to conserve energy use. We value living in a neighborhood of people who actually talk to one another and take interest in each other's well being. We have neighborhood picnics and celebrations when events happen in our lives. In my spare time I paint and draw using software programs on my pc. I print out my work onto fabric and create things with them. I digitize some of my artwork into designs that can be transferred to an embroidery machine to be sewn out onto fabric. I love to cook. I have picked up different techniques over the years. Now I can recreate almost any recipe just by the taste and smell of it. We have so much variety in our diet. I prefer to eat mainly meatless meals cooked with herbs and spices rather than salt and pepper. I live a long way away from Farwell now. The days are hot and we have little snow in winter. It makes for a very long growing season as well as creating some challenges. I went to school shortly after moving here to become a master gardener. I have dragged plants from all over the country to here to plant in my gardens, artichokes from California, Agaves from south Texas... I even brought plants here from Michigan during my last visit. garlic grows wild in my back yard. I still love music. I like to do mixes on my pc. It is so much easier than trying to keep up with the conductor(band teacher), read sheet music and beat on a drum at the same time...LOL. I sometimes hold a chat room for music lovers and play music from my library. I have music for every mood. My most popular chat is one I hold for quiet meditation with easy listening alternative music. Well, that's it for now. Until next time "I bid you Peace." If I won $100 million, I'd give $10 million of it to environmental organizations fighting global warming and protecting wildlife. I would give another 10 million in trust for people who are denied medical care in this country. , then spend the rest on development of an environmentally sound, tornado proof, self sustianing home, building a salt cave or two for people who need it's healing benefits, setting up a trust for my grandson and taking care of my family and furry friends. I would have to say that my best friend is my husband. I never would have imagined ending up with anyone like him. We met when I walked into his store to make a purchase almost 20 years ago. We just started talking. He had an old computer that he had no idea how to operate. I had taken a few computer courses in college. I managed to get the thing up and running and showed him how to at least use it to write a document. Old does not really describe it properly. It was a dinosour. You could only save very few k in any file. Turns out our birthdays are only one day apart, mine coming first. If he forgot my birthday he knew he would pay for it the next day when his birthday came around. It has been an up and down roller coaster over the years. We both had our share of baggage to conquer. We are from two different places in the Cosmos of life and yet we fit. I love camping and all sorts of outdoor things and he prefers to stay inside. One thing we both love is the computer. I taught him everything he knows. We had to get two of them so that we each could do what we wanted on them. He loves researching his family genealogy while I work on my arts and seeking sources of knowledge all over the web.
