Vickie's Story
Life
Well, I lived in Stouffville from the age of 5-27 afterwhich I moved to Richmond Hill and got engaged to an Army boy (said I would never do it!). He moved to Winnipeg and I stayed in Richmond Hill for a year. We were married in 1996 at Black Creek Pioneer Village and then spent our "Honeymoon" packing up a U-Haul truck with my belongings and moved to Winnipeg where we have lived ever since. The "Army" base has now closed in Winnipeg and they moved all the "troops" to Shilo (two hours away), sooooo he is in Shilo during the week and comes home for the weekends, it's interesting, but it works. Melissa came into our lives February 15, 2000, she is my greatest acomplishment! She is now in grade one and never stops moving or talking....she so much fun. I miss "home" sometimes, but generally I love it here! Winnipeg is a great city with man...Expand for more
y things to do! We took our summer vacation late August this year and came back to Ontario (haven't been back in 4 years). All I wanted was a quick drive through Stouffville to show Melissa my childhood home and of course she needed to see where Mommy went to school. It was a great trip. My parents now live in Wasaga Beach, which is the perfect spot for a summer vacation! My sister moved to Winnipeg almost three years ago, it's great to have family in the same province!
Update:
Well apparently not living with your husband 24/7 is not such a good thing for your marriage...who knew. I am now separated and have been for about a year and a half...things are good and Melissa and I are doing fine! I was home in the summer with Melissa and we had a great visit with family. Didn't make it to Stouffville, to bad as I hear it's really growing.
