Vickie's Story

Life Hi everyone! Since leaving school I first worked at Tom Tom Drive Inn for over two years. Then got married in 1987 to Tim Reed. He went to the junior high for one year when I was a 7th grader and he was in 8th- His last name then was Chrisom. We had the same friends, and probably were standing near each other - but neither of us remembers the other?! Then I started to work at the Meadowbrook Video-Tronics for over 4 years. A great place to work - you get to see alot of familiar faces. I left there to do home day-care which is what I did until 2006. 14 years. We have two kids Amanda (born May 1989) Cody (born April 1992) They completely take up most of our free time, because they have been in sports since they were in Kindergarten. They both play Soccer, Baseball, and Basketball. They both are pitchers & goalies. Cody goes to IKE, and Amanda graduated in 2007. I have never moved out of Yakima. If any of you go Christmas light looking - you might know our house. We live right off of 32nd & Nob Hill, and we decorate somewhat to the extreme. We run around 20,000 lights. We even got a snow machine last year! My parents on 52nd Washington have around 30,000, but my dad has not felt like puting them up the last couple of years. They live in the same house still. We try to out do each other. In (2003) we started our first full year in a new business. We did continuous concrete curbing. It's called A & C'S Kwik Kerb. It looks great in yards. We were busy all summer. Since 2006 we went full time. It is a seasonal job, so we will have to figure out something for the w...Expand for more
inters. (WE have since stopped with that business) Went back to normal jobs. I try to see some concerts each year if I can squeeze them in. I say it is still my favorite thing to go do! In (2004) we went to the Emerald Queen Casino/I-5 in Tacoma, and I won $1600 on one machine, and $500 on another, and decided to use some of that on a meet & greet package to the Rick Springfield concert. Which is why we were there. This is the second time I got to meet him. The first was back in 1982 at the fair with Andrea Rowley/Riggan, but stupid me didn't think to ask for an autograph. But the drummer got us tour books, and signed them. Anyway...now I got my picture taken with him, and a few autographs. The concert was great. He has a harder edgy sound to his new cd - Shock/Denial/Anger/Acceptance. Been to many concerts over the years, and seen many big names - his latest concert is right at the top. He walks along the seats, and gets everyone involved. He is 57 but performs like a 20 year old. As you can see I love music, but of course like many of us - we are not in jobs that we truly love. I really enjoyed seeing everyone at our 10th reunion and now our 20th - wish I would have talked to more of you though. I don't see too many people from school. I guess it's problably because we are busy with the kids. I did get to see Andrea in 2003 in Spokane while we were at a soccer tournament. We were great friends for a long time- then she moved out of town. The last time I seen her was in our senior year at the fair. So, that was great to see her after all these years. bye..Vickie
