Vickie's Story
Life since school:
Hi Classmates! I am pretty much the same person as I was back in our school days!
I'm still passionate about people & animals and I feel every person & every animal is worth saving! I am genuine, compassionate & have a country girl's heart with big city girl's dreams. I was raised on a dairy farm out in western Oklahoma and that friends...is how I acquired my work habits...but I never dreamed that I would become a workaholic like I have been for years and on straight Salary for years...what was I thinking? I guess the good thing about being a workaholic and working long hours has shown my dedication, to the Companies I've worked for, which helped me advance & support myself from the age of 17. BTW . . all of you "workaholics" out there ... Life is too short!
I haven't been all of my true self for the last few years due to serious injury to my back; however, I'm slowly adjusting to changes that happens when a person gets older and personally, getting older sucks sometimes! Why didn't someone prepare us for the changes we have to face when we get older? I feel like I'm a "Publicly Held Company" and I've been subject to a "Hostile" takeover, both physically and mentally. TeeHee!.
I think I have a great sense of humor...mostly dry, but I love to laugh, giggle and act silly & celebrate life while making people smile and even better...laugh! I love people &
love to socialize and one of my most favorite things to do is dance, dance, dance! I also love to share quiet times with the one for whom I care.
I love to listen to people, ask a lot of questions and learn all about them. This is how I get to know the world around me. People love to talk about their life and they actually deserve for someon...Expand for more
e to really listen to what they have to say. What a concept! I am one of those "someones" because I have a memory close to that of a white elephant and this is not only because I listen but I actually pay attention to details. I have friends of all ages with different personalities and interests, including some who like to party and some who do not. However, I am particular about the people around me.
I believe all relationships require effort and attention. I take all relationships seriously...Family, friends, work and personal. I love to spoil people because "they deserve it"!
I'm among those laid off from a "failing" Oklahoma City based company. I have taken some time off of work during the illnesses of four siblings, who have now all passed away in an 18 month period and a fifth sibling the following year. During this time, I've been working on some Lifestyle changes to gain better balance & become more centered and hope to get some help for my back because I'm ready to go back to work in a career that serves people & animals in some way. I feel .. this is what life is really about! I, like many peIople in this big and sometimes complicated world, yearn to contribute to the happiness of others & make a difference in their lives and in return, be blessed with the gift of Love! So maybe it's time some of you might also need to slow down, think & do whatever it takes to make YOU really happy and remember .. THE BIGGEST RISK OF ALL .. IS NOT TAKING ONE! Well, this is all for these chapters for now! I look forward to hearing from my "Friends" .. even if it is just to stop by & say "Hi!"
