Vickie Fern's Story
Life
Howdy,y'all!!! I'm a single mom of a 14 yr old son, Garrett and Mesquite is our home! We have a Mini-Schnauzer named Sugar. I was an officer with Bank of America for 27 years and was just laid off in June '08. It was a blessing though, as it allowed me to spend more time with my sweet mama who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in February '08, and I was able to help dad more through this time. We lost mom in August. I sang to her right before she went home to be with the Lord. It was a beautiful thing. I miss her so much that the pain seems unbearable at times. My son is a freshman at Horn High School and I stay busy trying to keep up with him. I am now going through Region 10 receiving my teaching certificate. School
My biggest crushes were on Keith Humbert & Tony Patterson, and there were others. I'd have to say that the teachers that inspired me the most were Jerry Hutson and Rosemary Heffley. If I had it to do all over again, I would have gone out and experienced life more and I would have NOT married at such a young age. I have SO many wonderful and crazy memories of school that I don't know where to start. Guess we'll wait until the 30 year reunion to laugh and cry over them.
College
I started out at Eastfield majoring in music, with Mark Noble and Troy Hawkins. Stuff happened, and I ended up getting thrown off track. I switched my major to Business. I got my Associates Degree at Motley University and continued there taking all classes that would transfer over to Amberton University to fit my degree plan. I received my Bachelor's of Science Degree in 1988 in Human Relations in Business.
