Vicky's Story
Life
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Terry, for 18 years. We have 2 children; age 14 & age 12. We have lived in Ottawa, KS now for about 9 years and it has become a great place to raise the kids. We live out in the country but we're close enough to Lawrence & Kansas City that we can see action when we want to and then return to the quiet little town to rest. :-). We have 1 dog, 3 cats, chickens & cows.
School
I enjoyed High School-not so much the social political crap, but, the learning. I had fun doing my own thing with my little group of friends (Kim, Jim & Damon for the most part).
College
I tried going to college after waiting a semester after H.S. and just wasn't into it so I went into the Active Army. I took some college co...Expand for more
urses while stationed in Germany.
Now, several years later, I returned to school last summer. I am working on a Bachelor's in Business Administration majoring in International Business & plan to pursue my Masters once I finish w/my Bachelors.
Workplace
I currently work in Purchasing as a Production Planner at Kalmar Industries in Ottawa, Kansas.
Military
I started out in the Army Reserves, stationed in Wichita. Got the itch to go Active Duty and went to Germany for a couple of years, during the Gulf War. The military was not a career choice for me. I didn't like the idea that someone else was calling all the shots. But, I'm glad I did it-I know I am better for it and besides, that is where I met my husband! (who happened to also be from KS).
