Vicky's Story
Lets see...not much of an exciting adventure to relate, but it has been a pretty good life all and all. I am blessed with seven children...four by birth and three by heart. I also have three amazing grandchildren, and am awaiting the very special gift of a new grandson near Christmas. I am surrounded by little ones at school, and am blessed with the opportunity to "teach" although I am not yet a certified teacher.
There have been challenges like everyone goes through in my life. A disastrous first marriage (but three awesome daughters), and a remarriage that gave me three beautiful heart children and a son of my very own) My husband, David and I have been married for almost twelve years. We met on the internet trying to help each other through our divorces long before things like "computer dating" became common place. Even today, I don't think either of us would be adventurous enough to try something like "eHarmony" and back then it probably did not even exist.
I have also learned to face the challenges of MS. It has been in many ways, the best setback I have ever encountered in life. Many amazing people have entered my life because of it, and I have truly learned what really matters to me in life--in some cases it wasn't even what I initially though it was.
One of the more moving experiences of my life since graduation was caring for my step-father as he labored through his final illness. We were blessed with accompanying him on his fin...Expand for more
al journey with the help of Hospice of Ann Arbor. Although it hurts to lose a loved one, I cannot begin to tell you how much I grew as a person as a result of being there for him, and our family's involvement with Hospice
I am still nuts about children--my own, the neighbors, and any children anywhere else I may find them. I have spent the past five years in the second grade and love it. If my health permits, I want to return to school and complete my teaching degree. I still dream of being a special ed. teacher in the area of emotional impairment.
Writing is still a pastime of mine..well I guess pastime isn't quite the right word, but I am sure you'll understand what I mean. I have also gotten into photography. It has been a way for me to "kidnap" old pictures that are too delicate to be taken to be copied so that I have them in my own collection, and a way of capturing the world around me. The pictures I have "re-photographed" have also deepened my interest in genealogy (all the rabbits I've had as pets through the years...I found a picture of my great-great grandmother holding a rabbit circa 1900. I was so excited! I thought it was a special pet...my mom said it was probably dinner. I'll have to set up a poll to get your opinion lol!
Well..for an rather staid story, I have taken up a great deal of print space. I am looking forward to reconnecting and learning about your adventures. Until then...take care and have a wonderful day!
