Life
I have been married for 30 years to a great husband: he has had his moments of insanity/stupidity and so have I. Somehow we have managed to stay together and raise our son. I am a 2 time survivor of Non-Hodgkins lymphoma and beginning a 3rd battle after a 7 year remission. I am very grateful for the life I have had. 20 years of life as a military wife and travel to places I never thought I would see. A wonderful and rewarding career as a nurse. I have not achieved all I set out to but I am thankful for the things I have accomplished with my life. If this seems sappy to those reading it, you learn what is important in life when you are faced with dying. My daily motto is: Every day I wake up is a gift from God...I have had 11 years of his grace since my initial diagnosis and pray for many more.
My lymphoma returned in 2011 and again this year. I am headed to Emory University in GA for a second transplant: this time a donor bone marrow transplant...It will be a long road but with God's blessings I will survive...
