Life
My Pets
I have 2 cats, both Cornish Rex, my boy, Loki, solid black, and my girl, Opal. I have a Cane Corso dog, my 110 lb sweetie. Love my critters.
My daughter, son in law and I have gone from 2 horses to 5. We still have the Curley mare, but now have 4 gypsy cobs( or Irish Tinkers). They are magnificent horses. The horses are wonderful, and beautiful. We really enjoy them.
My Kids
My daughter, Gretchen, lives in Maine
and is married. She lives on a farm and
has a Catahoula dog and a Cane Corso, several cats, and has chickens, geese, goats and our horses. She works for the Domestic Violence Coalition for the state of Maine. She makes policy, writes laws and works to get them passed, and is thinking about going back to school. She teaches a class for vet techs, police, animal rescue organizations for the University of Missouri al...Expand for more
so. Her husband, Neil, is a marine biologist, and runs the marine biology lab at the University of Maine.
My son, Joel lived in Peoria all his life. He passed away in 2003, joining my daughter Rachel who passed away in 1986.
My Mom still lives in Lincoln.
My Job
I am a certified nurse midwife. I worked as a nurse in OB for 15 years, then went to midwifery school in 1994, and have been doing it ever since.
I care for women during pregnancy, attend their
births, and their health care throughout
their lives. I am very honored to do
such wonderful work and to be present at
the first moment of life.
I live work in New Hampshire and love New England. I hope to retire someday, and move back to Maine, and do some homebirth.
I am also working on a book. I don't
know if it will ever be published, but I
enjoy the proccess anyway.
