Victoria (Vickie)'s Story
Life
Well, where to start. I almost married my high school sweetheart, Brian, but backed out at the last minute. I think I was too young and got major cold feet.
Then 2 years later I met and moved to San Diego with Mr. Wrong. We rushed into a marriage that was the biggest mistake of my life. The only good thing was on April 21, 1992 when I had a wonderful, handsome, smart and healthy little boy!! He is the light of my life. I divorced after only one year and was pretty gun shy for a little over 10 yrs. I thought marriage wasn't meant for me.
I finally married again in Jan 2003 and things were pretty good for a while... but once again I found myself divorced. I really am beginning to think marriage and me just don't mix.
I have a great job, currently in Pearland. My son, Anthony is now going on 22 and is thinking of going into drafting as a career. He's big into Japanese Anime and origami. He's become quite an artist and is a great swimmer. He also loves music like I did and I'm always finding my cd's in his room!!
I also have a beautiful 12 yr old neice, Maddie, a 9 yr old nephew, Billy and a 10 yr old nephew, Jayden and a 5 yr old nephew Gavin! Life is good.
School
I went to Janowski Elementary, then to Luthern North for a year. I attended Burbank Middle School for 8th grade (and developed a crush on Robert Tate), the following year they moved the 9th grade to Sam Houston.
High school sucked in the beginning, but got better as the years went by. Most of my 9th grade year was spent skipping classes and having fun. I hung out with Diane Kendziora, Mary Moore, Lori Matthews and a couple of other crazy people! Later in my 2nd year of 9th grade I decided to go to class and try to graduate! My closest friends were Janet King, Leah McDonald, Tammie Waits, Becky Melchorson, Javier Valdez, Donna Kilgore, Dominick Holman, Jacob Garza, Carlos Garza, and Lori Matthews. In the early high school years, I was closer to Janet King, . Later on in my junior and senior years I was closest to Kim Carter, Monica Myers, Ginger Anderson, Cudi Villareal and most of the Cosmetology girls! I still talk to a few people (Janet King & Leah McDonald) off and on now, but most of the people I am close to now are family and coworkers. In the past 3 years I have reconnected with a lot of people from high school through Facebook and it have been great!!
College
I didn't really do the college scene. I did the technical school thing instead. I got my certificate in Business Management from the National Education Center at the Bryman Campus back in 1992. I used that to get started in the office management/accounting field. I thought about getting a degree, but by then I had a little boy and didn't want to be away from him too much. Luckily I was born with some brains and always caught on to new things, programs, and applications easily.
Workplace
Started working at Chick-fil-a at Northwest Mall back in the 11th grade and worked there for 3 years. Then quit to work for Corrigan's Jewelers at Memorial City Mall for better money. I got tired of working weekends and holidays after about a year and went to work for Baylor College of Medicine. I worked for the Dept of Neurology as a file clerk for a while then took a position working with the Head of the Dept. That was a huge mistake as his nurse/wife was a psycho and I had to quit that job after a few months. Then I did a variety of clerical jobs which included Graco Mechanical, Clinton Industries, Cierra Pipe, Transitional Hospitals of Houston, DHL, I.G. Gold, Bridgestone/Firestone, Douglas Guardian, Lt. Blender's, Interfaith Ministries of the Woodlands and UTMB Galveston. I am in the Human Resources field now (and without a degree!! Told you I had some brains!!). I would still like to get my degree though... I love my job and am looking forward to moving into a management position where I can retire.
