Vijaya's Story

12-2-13-(Update)- Well still at CCHS. No secretary this year and 3 teachers moved. Finally gonna get one on 12-13. Been a busy year. We lost another one of our babes, Bubby, in August. He would have been 14 in Oct. He just got sick on Wednesday and died Thursday morning. We got another one in November. It's a pug and Chihuahua mix. We named her Sweetie and she is a sweetie. Getting ready for Christmas. Really came too soon. Mom is losing blood. Taking her to a doctor next Monday to see if they know what's wrong. Jay D. had a pacemaker put in and just can't seem to get any strength built up. He finally got his disability but isn't enough but is better than it was. Kenny still in Colorado and Mitchell in Elk Valley. Ed and I are just getting older and sassier. Retirement looks better all the time. Catch you all again later. 6-13-13-(Update)-Out of school for this year. Going camping a couple of times this summer. Ed's just had a total knee replacement. We've taken time about having some sort of surgery. Going to be at CCHS again this coming school year. Mom's still in the nursing home. My brother, Jay, is in bad health. Has some serious heart trouble. Hope he gets his disability soon. Kenny and his family are still in Colorado. Mitchell is in Elk Valley still. He and his wife are separated. (Updated 11-13-12) I am now Assistant Principal at Campbell County High School where Jamie Wheeler is the Principal. This is my first year there. I really enjoy it, but it's really a busy job. I am the Special Education Principal (Assistant at the school) where I deal with Special Education dicipline and business matters of Sp. Ed. then I help out with bus duty, lunch duty, and ballgames for my assistant duties. I hope I get to stay her until I retire which I hope is not too many years away. My mom is in the nursing home behind LaFollette Hospital as of July 4, 2012. Makes it easier ti visit her and take her to my house. 2010-11-I am at Jellico Elementary as assistant principal with John Crawford as principal. I was going to Caryville for 3rd grade when John called me. I have been here for two years I am teaching back at Elk Valley School (7th & 8th grade split grade for 2 years) after 4 years away. I was a principal at Stony Fork, the smallest school in Tennessee, for 2 years before it was closed, taught 5th grade at Ridgewood, then 7th & 8th science & math at Jacksboro Middle School. Looks like I'll be at Elk Valley again for the 2009-2010 school year. Thought I was moving closer home but guess not this year. (Update) Kenny has moved to Colorado Spring, CO. bought a house and will probably be there a while. I have been there twice in June to visit. Will be going in July this summer. He out of the service now and working for a private recycle company........... Ed & I together have 9 grandchildren. A new one in May 2008. My son, Mitchell, has 3, Kenny has 3. Ed's daughter, Kathy has 3. Went to Montana to see Kenny and family (6-14-08). G...Expand for more
oing again in July 2009. Ken's not there he's in Afganistan. Remember him and his family. They miss him so. My mom is still living at home. She in in the later stages of Alzheimers. My brother has been there now since January 2009. Dad passed away in 2004. We live in Jacksboro, TN. Been remarried for 16-----19 years now----- years to Ed Morton. Our anniversary was Nov. 14th. Nephew to Maureen Shoun (my 4th grade teacher at Jellico Elementary), & Doc Shoun that used to teach at JHS. Ed & I work with the band at Campbell County High School. We cater some. Ed's a wonderful cook. We have 6 dogs. 2 inherited from my mom. We lost our oldest, Skeeter, 2 years ago. She was our baby. She was a 13 year old Boston terrier. We have a 12 year old. Mollie, (we have since lost her to bone cancer 2010) who I don't think we'll have very much longer. Getting attached to them makes it very hard when you lose them. We have a Boston Terrier, Bubby, a Jack russell, Snoopy, 2 boxers, Baby and Tootsie, a spitz, Trixie, and a mix golden retriever/collie, Lucky. Hope to have a 40th reunion in October at JHS in 2012. Had a mini-reunion in October at Caryville. Had a great time and enjoyed seeing everyone. Our class has decided to meet every year on Saturday at the Alumni Homecoming gathering at Jellico High School. All '72 graduates or anyone who was in our class through the years please try to come. We'll gossip, eat lunch then gossip some more. Oct. 24th is this years date. New update 7-12-10 Been a while since I've written. Have been to Colorado Springs to visit my youngest son, Kenny, and his family. He's out of the military and working for the Lord and has bought a home there. I had changed schools to teach in Caryville for the 2010-2011 school year in the 3rd grade but seems the good Lord had other plans. I have been offered the Assistant Principal's job at my home school in Jellico.Jellico Elementary. I am waiting for the OFFICIAL word but it looks good. I will be able to be closer and with Mom more and will have a place to stay when I have to work ballgames and when there's bad weather. We lost another of our babies, (doggies) Mollie, in March. She got bone cancer and had to be put to sleep one month after it was found. Been cleaning and painting in the house getting ready for school to start again. Will start the 26th of July if I'm on the NEW job. Have to help clean some at Mom's. Might have to stay there some. Will edit again later. A funny childhood story. I fell on my see saw when I was about 6 or 7. I usually laid there and waited for my mom to come to me and comfort and pet me. I got up in a hurry and ran in side and told her that I thought I was going to die and I didn't want to die in the yard. I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right. My current age is 55. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old. I was so completely right.
