Vikki's Story

How do you hope old friends remember you? As being kind and compassionate. I always wanted to be a Rocket Scientist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a very insane idea. As it turns out, they were right. I try NOT to get angry anymore. I had a heart attack on June 2, 2008. What a wake up call that was! What's the wildest thing I ever did in school? Oh, I don't think I want to remember that one! LOL If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a challenge, and lots of money, and be happy to be able to deal with the day-to-day. Hero? That would be my Aunt Jennie who passed away in Feb. 2008. She was always loving, kind, compassionate, generous and HONEST and she told you like it was. Where have I lived? Why did I move? Phoenix & Prescott & Granite Dells, Mesa and Glendale, AZ. Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Santa Clara, Hayward, Union City, Redwood City & Milpitas, CA. El Paso, TX., O'Neil, NEB, Carbon Hill, AL, Valley Center & Wichita, KS. Moved because it was too hot, or no jobs, or just plain disliked the place or I just needed a change! The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is anyone from Creighton, because it would be great fun!. I have 2 dogs, 1 cats. Used to have horses, but back surgery prevents that pleasure these days. Any true crime & medical programs and most documentaries. Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been your biggest surprise? That I am still alive. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the basement and add a laundry chute from the 3rd floor to the basement. My dream home would be where I live now. It is made with fossilized stone that is 140-180 MILLION years old. I LOVE IT!. Parent? Share what you've learned from your kids. That they can be entertainers and they can come up with excuses I never thought of as a kid to cover my butt! Which teacher would you love to see again? Why? Mr. Griffith, my History teacher. He had a tremendous impact on my life. If I won $100 million, I'd give 25 million of it to The Innocence Project, then spend the rest on my grand kids educations, Abuse Shelters, and a cruise to Alaska and then save what was left. To be truly happy, you would be where, doing what, with whom? What I am doing now, where I am now. My current age is 56. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be antiques. I was so completely right. I've had plenty of educ...Expand for more
ation. In the classroom, from the books, from the computer, but the best education has been from LIFE. What happened to your first crush? Bill Cook. I married him. Then divorced him. Met at Perry Pool in the summer of 62 and every summer after that for years. Saw him again as a Senior at East High. We married and had a wonderful son. We remain friends to this day. My best friend would tell you I'm kind, caring and compassionate, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as silent and very observant. Still dress like you did 10 (or 20) years ago? Talk style. Oh Hell No! I prefer pajamas! The more comfy the clothes, the better I like them! Style? What is that? I share my home with my husband, 2 dogs and 1 cat, which I find relaxing. Got trophies on your mantel? Share a big victory. I tossed the softball trophies years ago. I do have a commendation though, it hangs in the hallway. I learned not to keep much on the mantel, squirrels make their way down the fireplace, then the chase is on between it and the dogs. (Squirrels are normally bigger than my dogs!)Too many things were broken during those squirrel/dog races, so just your basic unbreakable stuff resides there now. You get one do-over. What do you do differently? Spend more time with my family. In 10 years, I hope to be ALIVE. I'm going to get there by Trying to stop smoking. What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? What I've done as far as education and what I have done in my life. My first job was at Totem Dept Store at 32nd St & Thomas when I was 15, where I got paid $1.60 hr to cashier. What I learned most about it is that most people are depriving a village of an idiot somewhere.. Share a childhood memory you'll never forget. Most of my childhood memories I would rather forget. But I remember how The Kendricks, Ignacio's, Annis's and I would always play volleyball or Ditchem'. The Ollerton's always joined us in "Ditchem". Well another update: My 2nd grand daughter, Katie and her boyfriend started living with us about 3 weeks ago. Lot of things (economy wise) went bad for them, so, I had two spare rooms, and now they occupy those. (Although I seldom find them occupied both at the same time!) ;-) Its been nice to have company around me again, especially my grand kids. It certainly gets me out of the house more, BUT, I do miss my alone quiet time as well.
