Vincent's Story

I don't know about you but I am worn out.I have been a nurses aide 33 yrs. It is time to find out what else I can do. I am seeking a new career. So right now I am on a medical retirement. Starting school this summer so please be praying for me this is a trying time for my wife and I. I always wanted to be a astronaut when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were wrong because I can't find my way to the bathroom without a GPS. Stand on my head and hold my breath five minutes. In 1965 my parents and the three of us kids moved to California from Camden New York.My father had emphysema. His breathing was better in California. That was and ever will be my big trip. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Fred Lewis, because We were very good buddies when we were kids.. My wife and I have had wonderful dogs. Our last one died in Oct.2007.She was a great dog for my wife. She was a service dog. She pulled my wife in a wheelchair,Turned off lights for her, closed doors for her, payed the cashier at the store for her. She was a buddy to her. My biggest surprise in life is that I lasted 33 years as a nurses aide. I also was surprised that I did so well in Junior College got an AA degree and did very well. In High School I passed by the skin of my teeth. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my whole appartment and add on a Big Wide digital tv. My dream home would be Pretty much like it is now because it is homey and a beutiful place I cann't relax. I have no kids. I hope I am spelling her name right Mrs. Benkeny. She was like a grandmother to me. She was like Mrs. Bel nap. Who live down the street from us. My current age is 57. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be boring. I was so completely wrong. My goal in my new career is to Glorify God in any way I can. When I was 6 years I had my first crush I guess I made I obvious,My eyes followed her all over the class room.I scared the poor girl to death. She never wanted to sit next to me in lunch or classroom. My best friend would tell you I care about people, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as lazy.. I'm not much on fashion I go by saving money. I am wearing the same clothes I did 20 years ago. The weirdest Job I ever had is in California The boss wanted me to drive from Orange County to Los Angelus County And put up awnings and aluminu patios But I had never driven a truck, or used tools and I...Expand for more
was a fraid of heights. I trained a Whippet in Dog obediance.A Whippet is a race dog. They look like Grey Hounds but half the size.Once a year my wife and I went to Santa Barbra to put my dog in the ring. The Sight Hound specialty had their obediance shows on Saturday and the all bread club had their show on Sunday.I put him in both. One year (1988) Him and I were in the ring. He was sitting next to me. I gave him the signal to heel he took a few steps forward not thinking I drew my hand in a halt position which made him halt. I walked in a U back to him I got back next to his side.He watched my movement he figured that stopping was the not the right decision so he walked the same pattern I did. He ran the same place I did, He came to my side and sat. My dog taught me that day he could actually think and reason on his own. We didn't score big that day but my dog got a lot of laughs that day. So the moral of the story is it is great to do well but sometimes we need to hang our hair down and relax and not get serious all the time. In 10 years, I hope to be still working. I'm going to get there by learning something at school and through God's grace . My first job was at a bank and IBM computer, where I got paid $75.00 a month to sweep and dust. What I remember most about it is I worked with my uncle I worked three month. It was when my family and I first came out here from Camden, New york..We move to Garden Grove. I can remember one evening in upstate New York , my sister invited her friend( which she had a lot of) to the house. Her friend brought her sister along. The sister and I knew each other we were in the same class in school. I was 8 Years old. My sister towered over me even though we were only a 1 year and a half a part in age.My sister got a full nelson on me and the sister of the girl who was in my class had a full nelson on her. My sister and her friend tried to get us to kiss. Now I admit it If they had pulled it off I wouldn't of been upset I mean the girls were cute. It's just that she accused me of trying to kiss her.She broke her hand free of her sister and she left me with a hand print on my face. The moral of the story God created women with bonier hands than men. I am updating my life history, I am now 63 years old I am collectting cans and bottles and recycling them, I also am a Banner waver in front of stores, I at times put fliers out on doors for a friend. These jobs keep me free to help my wife if she needs me and I can set my own hours and walk alot. They are great jobs for me. Thank yiou and Merry Christmas and a HAPPY nEW yEAR.
