Vincent's Story
Life
After high school, I enrolled at Iona College and after completing the 1st semester, my father was afflicted with a brain tumor. Being the oldest of 5 children, I was forced to drop out of Iona and work to support the family. Happily, he returned to work and I resumed college for one and a half years when I was reclassified 1A and drafted into the US Army. Before I left for Korea, I married and my 1st child was born. ager. in the interim, My wife and I devorced in 72 and I later married again in 86. Tragically, my wife Cathy died of cancer in 94. since then I've been busy with the American Legion (past Commander 86-89), march with an Honor Guard, sing in a church choir, sing with the Senior Songsters (a barbershop group) volunteerily singing at nursing homes and soup kitchens. Also I belong to the Mendelssohn Choir of over one hundred members and we did 3 concerts last season. My biggest thrill was a walkon with the Connecticut Grand Opera doing MacBeth at the Palace Theater in Stamford. I play golf weekly and enjoy a cuddy cabin boat on Long Island Sound.
