Viola's Story

Life My bio includes my 32 year old son and 28 year old daughter, my 3 Dandy Grandsons, who are the apples of my eye! Two cat, two dogs, a nice home, so that makes up for it. Got my BA and an AA. Working now on the down slope. Need one more promotion before retirement. My kids & Grand-babies are happy, and so am I. I love living where I am, but stationary for 10 years, hmm. God willing, I will get a job elsewhere and continue to work. College My favorite instructor was by far, Dr. William "Bill" Thackeray. Very intelligent, and left wing at that. He's a challenger, and believes in a person's rights, constitutional and all. Minority rules in his world, and he's smooth as hell about it. I learned a lot from him. He was also very patient with us older students, as he knows we were pretty much set in our way of thinking. Thank You. One thing I remember doing, is one of my instructors, who's name I can not divulge, has this thing about germs, and has a very large personal space. He always had a glass of water due to the fact he had a salivary gland problem. One day, I went into class late, picked up his cup of water, smelled it, just to make sure it was water, and put it down. He of course poured it out, got a new glass, and got more water. ho've gone to MSU-Northern, you know who he is if you had his class. FUNNY!!!! Workplace I've been fortunate enough to work with multitudes of people. Some from places as far away as Germany, and some as close as Harlem, Montana. I don't remember a lot about the military, being that I was constantly on the go. I remember basic training was a hell of a challenge. Korea, well....I was pretty intoxicated all 12 months. Panama, well, you know the old saying "What happens on the mile, stays on the mile!" Hawaii, visited some interesting locations, and I had my baby the day the First Gulf War started. Washington State, I was divorced, alone with two babies, and ETS'd by 1996. My patrol partner (MP Novak) was my best friend.. Heck, if he wasn't married, It would have been different. Military Working for Uncle Sam was the greatest experience in my life, other than my babies. The locations I was sent too and the people I got to meet were awesome! I'll tell you what, if I could have, I would have retired from the military. I love the hurry up and wait, and the time off after a deployment. The benefits are awesome, and the job offers after getting out were just as good. I recommend Uncle Sam to anyone, no matter the time of life you're in. If you can, go for it.
