Violet's Story

Life While raising 3 daughters, I got my M.S. in Computer Science and worked at IBM and Lockheed Martin as a Lead Software Engineer. I also taught SW Engineering at Binghamton University full-time and also as adjunct lecturer. Since retiring from Lockheed Martin, I am now Asst Prof teaching SW Engineering course at University of Maryland University College at graduate level. My husband Ira and I have been married since 1964 and we now have triplet granddaughters and I love being Grandma Vi! Although I was very shy in high school and college, I am now the exact opposite with...Expand for more
a wicked sense of humor. One of the most exciting trips my husband and I have taken is a 9 day raft trip down the Colorado River thru the Grand Canyon - loved it! College I majored in Chemistry with minors in French and Ancient History. Of all my professors, I remember Prof. Sattler (Organic Chemistry) and his golden shovel. I was full-time homemaker for a while after graduating and then got my M.S. in Computer Science (which I did use at IBM and Lockheed Martin as lead software engineer.) My Chemistry background and scientific training came in handy getting my M.S.
