Virginia's Story

I am a retired office worker, enjoying my children and grandchild more than mere words can say. Even though my children are all grown now, I would do anything in my power to keep them safe and healthy. We all live close and stay close not just in person, but in our hearts, minds and souls. They are God's greatest gifts to my husband, of 45 years, and me, and to the gifts they bring to our world. I love my oldest and dearest friends and family, and try to keep in touch with them regularly, either with visits and/or emails. I am from the "old school" when it comes to life's values. I vote according to those values. It took me a long time to realize those values, but having found them, I never want to be without them...ever!! I am a busy retired lady; I care for our grandson during the school year while both his parents are working. He's our first and most important ministry! Gardening is a huge favorite outdoor activity of mine. I am a Catholic Daughter of the Americas through our church. With that I enjoy volunteering with them to raise money for the local unwed mothers' organization in our city. I give time to the prayer shawl ministry as I love to knit and crochet. I sing in our contemporary choir at the 5p.m. Saturday Mass. We have many new friends in our new (to us) retirement town, and visit regularly ...Expand for more
with them. Life in the south is HOT, HOT, HOT!!!...during the summer anyway. So I am learning how to pace myself with the heat. I stay indoors during intensly hot periods with the AC going and read or hang out on my laptop. I do still keep house, do laundry, cook, and grocery shop, but not as much as I once did when the kids were growing up. On occasion my husband does some cooking, which I appreciate. He is a very busy retiree doing many volunteer jobs through the Knights of Columbus where he is a fourth degree knight. He does Meals on Wheels, Operation LAMB (least among my brethren), yard sales 4 times a year, works at the Merci Clinic for the poor in our community, and would like to become involved in the Special Olympics. I think I see less of him now than when he was working! We have been very blessed in life and give all the thanks and glory to God for all these blessings! I know He will continue to care for us according to His Will. I pray for all of you reading this for the same things I would want for myself and my family: good health, peace, contentment, love, security and a deep appreciation for all the good that comes to you. Sincerely, Virginia (Ginnie, Ginger, Gin) M. (Gifford) Camp
