Odey's Story
Life
Following graduation, I went to work for an attorney. I left there and went to work for our own SFPD. I was the first female to work at the police pistol range at Lake Merced. From there I became a ballroom dance teacher for the Fred Astaire Studios. I married, had one daughter, won a few medals for the US in world competions with my husband, dance partner. Divorced husband #1 joined the police force being in the first class of women to work the streets. Married husband #2, a firefighter. ( I had about 17 years in the police Dept.) Second marriage didn't last either, but remained friends with both husbands. I moved to NY to sing a season. Came home and went to work at Marine World Africa USA, working the Tiger, Elephant and Whales and Dolphins shows. After my grandsons were born, I opened a daycare to care for them. I then started taking in "special Needs" Newborns, my joy. Some years ...Expand for more
later when my granddaughter was expected and my son-in-law, in the Navy, was sent to Afganistan, I sold my home and moved to So. Ca. to help my daughter. I pretty much remained here. I miss the north, however. Today I spend my time helping those with illnesses. I have traveled this entire country. Just came back from a month In Al. I discovered a program that reversed my arthritis. I developed both types when in the PD. I use my program to help others. I am also a singer and work part time now doing concerts at Senior Living Places. I am a First Soprano with the San Diego Women's Chorus. And, I do pet care for people going on vacations or getaways or going into the hospital, who don't wish to leave their dogs in a kennel. I am very much still an outdoor gal, swimming, camping, hiking, etc. That is pretty much it, for the time being, hahaha. I don't merely exist in the short life, I life it.
