Wanda's Story
I love to catch and eat crawdads. I have always caught crawdads by hand in the day time.
This past summer, for the first time, I went gigging for crawdads at night(when they come out of hiding to feed), while wading in the creek with a lantern or flashlight. I enjoyed doing that but didn't get as many crawdads as I would have by hand in the day time.

In late summer I gather thistle for blowgun darts and cut river cane for blowguns, flutes, gig poles, etc. I'm not saying I'm good at making those things, but I do it, anyway.
In the fall of the year I gather pecans, hickory nuts to make kanuche and black walnuts for cake.
Spring is time for wild onions, watercress, poke greens, lamb's quarter and may apples.
