Warren's Story
I'm Warren Barlowe on FB. I was a high school student here from 1967-1970. It was a life-changing experience. It transformed me from an emotional wreck of a nerd to a confident, creative, college-bound young adult with dreams on their way to coming true. Please go to my FB page; look for Warren Barlowe. While at Adams, I learned to teach, create psychedelic lightshows for school dances, and advocate for social change. My dream was to be an outdoor education teacher/therapist, helping people with brain differences to lead fruitful lives. I achieved my dreams - I am now a successful OCD behavioral therapist on Long Island, working with people like myself of all ages to recover and live their dreams. In my spare time I am involved in working to educate people to solve our planet's environmental, social, and public health problems (I'm a New York State Certified Public Health Leader/Educator for the Covid-19 pandemic); and, yes, I still do lightshows for parties and concerts!

The school closed in about 1975, and the interior was gutted and was replaced by a condo building, but the architects preserved the carved stone front facade and it still looks just the way it did when it was a school. (This preservation beautifully allows you to view the front of the building and reminisce on your days there!)
I have too many fond memories of my experiences there to write about all of them, and I will share them here with other 'alumni' who wish to connect with their younger days and add material to this page!
I want to thank a lot of my classmates and teachers for their contributions to my experience.
I first want to thank my high school girlfriend Lori Burnett., who helped me to feel positive about myself in ways I had never dreamed of. I had a very new, strange, wonderful and yet scary feeling about her, and it's only in years since then that I realized it was love back then.
