Warren Patton:  

I moved back to Gary, to live, November 2, 2009, after having away since graduating in 1973. So, I'll try to keep it brief. Currently, I am currently employed with Amazon and am a retired U.S. Navy, Chief Petty Officer. I'm divorced, and have a 38-year-old son "Thomas", living in Kansas City, Mo, by a previous marriage. My son and his wife Shatrece have blessed me with two adorable granddaughters: Averi, born January 17, 2014 and Amani, born December 18, 2017. After graduating Gary West Side High School, in 1973, attending South Carolina State College on a track and football scholarship, I joined the U.S. Navy, where I spent 20 years, as a Navy Journalist. While on active duty, I earned a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, and a Masters Degree in Public Administration, attending classes at night and on the weekends. I am proud to say that the U.S. Navy paid for both of my degrees. I retired in 1999, as the Public Affairs Officer for Navy Recruiting Region West (comprising 17 Western States and Hawaii), followed by 11 years of direct sales, in a variety of industries.
