Watt's Story
Life
After high school I went to Tech. I got a job at Texas Instruments in Dallas in June of '77. I stayed in the Dallas area from '77 till '97 but only stayed at TI until December of '80. I went to work for Johnson Controls and after working basically for the same company (the business unit got sold a couple of times) for most of that time I went out on my own. I then hopped to Austin for 8 months, then to St. Paul for 7 months then to Orlando for 5. I was contracting as a controls and instrument engineer (industrial computers). I moved to Glen Ellyn, IL (Chicago) in December 1999 for a "great opportunity" that lasted a whole 19 months that I should have seen coming. As a result of that I moved again to Coral Springs, FL, (Ft. Lauderdale) as of August, 2001. put me back in Florida as of March 24, 2008. You should see the boxes around me right now! Just got through with a wonderful (not) Chicago winter but going back to Florida just in time for hurricane season.
I have two children (twins) from my first marriage. Megan, who graduated from Duke in Social Anthropology recently got her Masters at UT in Film Restoration and Archival, and Matthew, graduated from North Carolina State in Aeronautical Engineering and is at Boeing in St Louis. I also have inherited two great boys, Ian and Skyler with Patrice Lane Durden, who I worked with for a long time then re-met after two years of not working together. We were both surprised when we re-met as to how much we shared in common, in tastes and history. We have been together since '97. I am with MWH (Montgomery Watson Harza) as a Supervising Engineer - I&C (Instrument and Controls)in their Sunrise,FL office.
