Wayne's Story
Here is a very sketchy profile:
After graduating high school in Huntington, I went to SUNY at Oneonta, and then on to Albany Law School, graduating in 1976. After a year in private practice, followed by a short stint in Florida, I returned to Albany, NY where I started as a line-attorney in the Appeals Bureau of the Attorney General's Office. Little did I know then that I would remain in that office (although not in that job) for the next 30 years!
Thankfully, I rose through the ranks and, in March of 2007, ended my career there as deputy solicitor general and bureau chief, running the 50 person appeals bureau.
At that time, I changed careers, moving to the New York State DMV as executive deputy commissioner. As 2nd in command in the State, I supervise 4 deputy commissioners and 3,000 employees. I report directly to the commissioner.
I love my job. The deputies are smart, dedicated and genuinely nice people. Moreover, we're involved with interesting projects like the Western Hemisphere ...Expand for more
Travel Initiative, part of which involves developing an enhanced driver's license with a radio frequency
identification chip to speed land and sea travel and to be used as a substitute for a passport. It's interesting, challenging and fun work.
My wife of 21 years, Becky, is also an attorney working for the state of New York. After 21 years in the state, last year she received a high-level promotion to deputy director of the Governor's Office of Employee Relations. Her agency has
responsibility for labor law and employment issues involving the thousands of unionized state workers.
We have two children -- a daugter, Alyssa, who's 20 and currently touring Europe. She's finishing her junior year at Boston University. Jared, our son, is 17 and finishing his junior year in high school and just starting the college search.
We have a large house across the Hudson from Albany. We've carved out a good lives for
ourselves and feel very blessed.
I would love to hear from anyone interested. Thanks, Wayne
