I went to Ohio State for a year and decided to join the Air Force. Joined in 1976 as a Vet Tech. Got my pilots license in 1980 and decided to become an Air Traffic Controller. Continued to fly and received my commercial, multi-engine, instrument flight instructor. Did Air Traffic Controller for the next 17 years and then retired. Once retired I was picked up in the same job I was at before retiring, at Air Force HQ doing Policy and Standards for Instrument Procedure design. I managed a $35 million dollar software development program that I started and now all of Department of Defense (DoD) is using. We moved our AF operations in 2006 from Washington DC to OKC. Loving it here in OKC. 2013- Retired from the Department of the Air Force with 17 years of service. Got an offer from a MITRE corporation, a company inside the beltway in Washington DC. I work for MITREs Center for Advanced Aviation System Development. Could not resist their offer and said I would never go back inside the beltway, but money talks, so....
