Wayne's Story
Wow! 35 years since graduation. We're all 50 somethin'. Where did all the time go...
I've spent the past 30 in retail, first Meier & Frank and now Macy's. The best part? No two days have ever been the same. The worst part? Constant change. Training people is the most rewarding, especially when you see how their confidence and skills deveolp over time.
I've traveled to the Caribbean, & England to visit friends and family and circled the U.S. by train (not all at once). While seeing new places is always exciting, home's my favorite (I sound like Bilbo Baggins).
Life is good. Surrounded by the people most important to me. Family...Expand for more
, friends, partner; the ones who accept me as I am and love me anyway.
What does the future hold. Who can tell? Caring for aging parents. Planning for a long, hopefully comfortable, retirement. Looking forward to all the new people and places that will be a part of it. There's something to be learned and gained from every experience. Who we are today is the sum of everything we've done. I can hardly wait to see who I'll become tomorrow and beyond.
Looking through "classmates", I see names I haven't thought of in years. I'm curious and excited to discover what eveyone has been doing and where they're headed next.
