I don't have anything spectacular to write about. I enlisted in the guard because when I graduated, it was during the heavy time for Vietnam. I might have gone, but I highly disagreed with the Vietnam War. I didn't think we should have been over there. Draft board was on my tail, so I enlisted in the guard. Active Duty was in Fort Benning, Ga. and the AIT training was at Fort McClellan, Ala. I enjoyed Alabama.

ral days on KP because they used to go down the line and pull us out for it and I seemed to be in the right place to get picked for it. Back home in Barre Vt. I spend my time first as an ammo handler; than as time went on, I worked in the Mess Hall as a cook's helper. The last two years I was working in the office keeping records. I traveled to Williston and different places to help them with their records. I enjoyed this type of work. Honorably Discharged on Oct. 10, 1972.
