Wayne's Story
It’s going to be 50 years since our graduation. Andover was not a bad place to grow up in. Andover ,home of the IRS, Raytheon, Phillips Academy and Gillette.
Andover has had a long history from 1600’s to present. I guess is worth 6 pounds and a coat.
From Town members being witches at the Salem trials. To sending townsmen to the battle of Lexington and represent Andover in all our country’s wars..
The original Punchard high school that later became the jr high school then became the East jr high to Andover high school that later became the west jr high .and In 1968 the New High School was official opened for the start of the graduating senior class of 1969.
My family had been in Andover since the early 1900s .

My Cousins Lorna Done ,Bob Done and
Pricilla Parker My nephew and niece Gary and Cheryl Anderson ..all graduates of Andover High.
I grew up in Shawsheen
At first grade my mother was taken away to Danvers mental Asylum which was not talked about in those days.
In 1967 my father died from a fall leaving me with my older sister and family also just before the start of 10th grade.. In 1969 we lost our house as my sister decide to leave for Florida I wanted to finish high school in Andover and then enter the Air Force. At the time a girl friend ,her sister and mother who took me in so I could complete school and graduate at Andover.
In May of 1969 my mother while at Danvers a patient pushed her down and she fractured her hip while recovering sepsi...Expand for more

The family that I stayed with helped me though those times.
I really never got to thank them the way I should have but I'm really indebted to them.
HS graduation June 13 1969, joined Air Force with delayed enlistment ...in Basic training June 24,1969.
inherited mothers illness which later turned out to be what is now called bipolar
they gave me a military retirement from the service.
After awhile just continue to find my way as Bipolar never goes away.
In 1974 -76 Greater Lawrence Voc.Tech.Inst. Physical Therapist Assistant Program completed.
In 76 Moved to Raymond, N.H. to work in Physical Therapy and live ,Married a Andover girl. In November 1976 .Then moved to Milton NH. . In 1981 moved to Richmond, Virginia Then had a divorce in 89
Remarried in 90 she was a Yankee ,in case you thought I married a southern bell. In fact from upstate NY and then another divorce in 2003.
6 children during those years
2 daughters ,Kristina ,Stephanie 2 sons Joe ,Wayne jr and 2 step sons Clay ,Sam.

Several grandchildren.
I was able to work for 40 years as a Physical Therapist Assistant despite being bipolar to still be a productive person.
From 2001 helped our Veterans through physical therapy for 16 years at Richmond VA medical center here in Richmond ,Virginia.
I am now retired and volunteer at the Veterans Medical Center in Richmond,VA.
.......... Yes, I"M. Still CRAZY after all these YEARS and have the papers to prove it.
