Wayne's Story
Life
I can't believe it's been 32 years since graduation. A lot has happened in my life since that time. Most people who knew me then would have a hard time grasping the idea of me ever pursuing an education beyond high school. But then we all grow up (hopefully) and redirect our focus. I hold an MA in Public Admin. and Human Resource Mgmt from Ohio University and a MS in Industrial Psych. from the University of Maine. After working in social/human services for 18 years, I finally had enough. I earned my teaching credentials in 1997, and recently retired after 11 years teaching deaf and hard of hearing kids for the Portland Public School District...Expand for more

I've been in a committed relationship for nearly 30 years. We're both very involved GLBT activists. We have no kids of our own but have been very lucky to have developed a close family relationship with our "adopted children," Derek, Jacquie, and Zach. It's good to be a parent without the responsibilities of orthodontia bills and college tuition.
I can't say that I have any regrets about my life. There may have been some things I'd done differently or sooner than I did, but again, NO regrets. I've missed so many of the people that I was close to back in the days at Tri-County and am hoping that some of us will reconnect via ClassMates.com.
