Wayne's Story

Life Hmm... graduated from St. Louis University in '87 and started working with PC's. Got married in '89 to Sonja Moyers, adopted a wonderful daughter, and had a son in '91. Unfortunately, we divorced in July '00 after being separated for a year. I remarried in September 2000 and we have 5 children in the family. My father passed away on July 28th 2001 after a battle with cancer. I still miss him very much. Lost my job in March of 2002. Started my own company in June of 2002 plus doing some temporary consulting work for larger firms. I am now also a full-time instructor at ITT Technical Institute. I love teaching! Two of my stepkids moved out in November of '03 leaving just two at home now. Got my Masters in Education in March '04. Woo hoo! Lost my grandmother (really a second mom to me) in May of '04. Family is getting small. :-( In May of '04 got a 2005 Dodge Magnum Hemi - It's not your dad's station wagon. hehe Maybe my mid-life crisis is starting? Who knows. Still going strong teaching at ITT. In addition to my teaching duties, I am also the Safety and Security Officer. My oldest stepson moved out in July of 2005 leaving just the three of us. We decided to downsize. Sold the old house in just one day! Moved to a smaller house but still in Arnold so my son didn't have to switch schools. Sold the Magnum in July '07 and got a Charger Daytona in its place. It's purple (Plum Crazy) and very noticeable. :-) Getting divorced soon. Yikes second strike for me! Finished my second Masters Degree. This time it is in Internet Security. This will allow me to teach more and varied classes. woo hoo! Divorced and...Expand for more
couldn't be happier. Got promoted to Senior Instructor at ITT in May of 2009. In January of 2010 I celebrated 7 years as a teacher and that breaks my record for working at one place. School Ah, sometimes I miss the old days. Things were a bit simpler and a whole lot slower. My grandpa always told me that the older you got the faster it goes and damned if he wasn't right! High school was good to me and so I miss it. I hear so many students talk about how much they hated high school and I'm sad to hear that. It was a great time for me. Good music, good friends, good times. Would I go back? Maybe, though it would be awesome if I could back knowing what I know now. Or would it? Hmm.... :-) College Went to Mizzou for a year in Engineering and realized that was not going to work. Came back to St. Louis to go to St. Louis University and got my Bachelors in Computer Science in 1987. Truly earned the nickname Skip Tripp... hehe Finished my Masters in Education. Did this completely online - no classes to attend thank God!!(March '04) Finished another Masters, this time in Internet Security. I got done in July of '08. yay me. Workplace I'm a full-time instructor at ITT Technical Institute in Arnold. I am teaching Algebra, Physics, Problem Solving, PC Networking and Protocols, Telecommunications, and Windows 2003 Server Advanced classes at ITT Tech. I never knew I would love teaching as much as I do. Just celebrated my seventh year at ITT. I still love it as much as I did when I first started. Finally branching out a bit and teaching Game Design and IS Security classes as well. Did I mention I LOVE teaching? hehe
