Wendi's Story
Updatey thing:
Got a favor to ask of y'all...
My memories of my childhood - for that matter almost everything before the age of about 22 - are seriously gappy and distorted. It would help me greatly if you would share your memories or impressions of just wtf I was like back when you knew me. Good, bad, unpleasant, painful, dumb, trivial... It doesn't matter. If you hated my guts, or I just plain annoyed the daylights outta ya; if you liked me or felt sorry for me; feel free to let me know - but please tell me WHAT it was I was doing that was annoying.
In return for this favor, this is my promise to you:
I promise not to be a whiny brat about whatever it is you say, and I promise not to argue with you about it. I'm just looking for some perspective for some therapy type stuff.
Frankly, I love my family, but they aren't exactly unbiased either. :-p
Also, if you want to know just wtf I was thinking/smoking/whatever, just ask. I'm way over being ashamed, embarrassed, or pissed off over it; just trying to find out where the disconnect was.
Thanks in advance to anyone who answers! It will seriously help in ways I can't even articulate.
Life
Google Strega42 - you'll find me. You should be safe, I'm in Atlanta now. How the hell do you really sum up 20 years, anyway?
Holy crap I got married (again) Feb 26, 2008. Third time's a charm.

ks to Barr Pharmaceuticals.
School
School was horrible - if there was one single thing I could change, it would be to ask for help when I was about 9. It would have changed everything.
College
Never did get to college. Whoops. It's all been independent self-study.
Military
Spent two years as an Army wife. I was not impressed with Louisiana. Spent fourteen years in a Navy town and picked up some interesting stories. Go ahead, contact me. They're great conversation starters. Or stoppers. Depending on whether you want a crowd to gather and listen, or you just want that other person to STFU.
On Kids:
They're tougher than you think. They know more than you think. Eventually, they realize that YOU know more than THEY think.
Hm. Story Wizard thing is seriously cliched. "What about me would surprise everyone at your high school reunion?" Ha. Do I get cynical or tongue in cheek with this? 1) That I was there. 2) That I'm capable of having a conversation with people rather than a) hiding from them or b) talking at them, 3) my stammer is gone.
"Share a childhood memory you'll never forget." Watching the Challenger disaster coverage - if some of you recall, it was the day I withdrew from school - and learning to despise the obsessive coverage of McCollough's daughter sobbing and begging her not to go. Scavengers, the lot of them, and I've hated them ever since.
