Wendy's Story
I grew up in South Everett and went to school at Olivia Park, Olympic View and Cascade High. My last year at Cascade was my sophmore year as my family moved to Granite Falls. I spent two semesters at Granite Falls, and then moved in with my sister in Marysville to help her out. I finished my high school there and because of the way my classes were set up, I ended up graduating a semester early.
I consider Everett as my home I guess. After highschool I attended Everett Business College for a short time and In October of 1970 entered into the Army. I met my first husband there and lived with him for twenty five years, and had six children in five different states. Throughout the years, I have had a number of occupations.
You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you all the things I experienced during those twenty five years.
So, on to a new life, I decided to go back to school, and I am just shy 7 credits of receiving my Civil Engineering degree with a minor in Environmental Studies. I have now been married five years to my new husband, (both husbands were named Michael, can't keep away from them)and I live in Alaska. I enjoy the fishing here. There are real BIG fish here.
To add a little to this part. I did graduate in December of 2008 and in July of 2009 obtained a position with the State of Alaska Department of Transportation, Construction, Northern Region. I now work with the contractors to make sure they are b...Expand for more
uilding airports and roads here in Northwestern Alaska according to specifications and plans, and codes of Alaska.
I am now a grandmother of 13 (15 now with one on the way) grandchildren, three of which are graciously attributed to by my current husband. My oldest son will be graduating from BYU Idaho with his Mechanical Engineering degree in December, and it looks like him and his family, with wife and three children may be coming up to Alaska to try it out.
This is added. My youngest son is fighting in Afghanistan, and my second to youngest son will be getting married in April. So....more grandkids coming up!
Lots of holes in this brief accounting of the past. If anyone would like to communicate, I guess I'm not supposed to put my email in here.
Take care everyone, and if possible, I will try to make it next year to the reunion, baring any and all unforeseen tragedies.( I was not able to make it because I was fortunate to get this position, which takes me out in the field during the summer months.)
(Anyone seen Judy Hill or know where she might be at....married names, etc.?) So got to write it again. Update: Worked at various places ( Anchorage Water & Wastewater, Post Office, 611th Civil Engineers at Elmendorf) Had the opportunity to go to Japan as an Environmental Engineer. Loving it. For all you who knew me then, "Take a look at me now!" "My future's bright. I gotta wear shades."

Wendy Parker (Grant)
