Life
Hi everybody! Where did everyone go?! It's funny how good friends disappear after graduation. I am doing great. I have been married for 12 years now to the same guy,Chris, with 1 beautiful daughter,Catie, who will be 10 Dec.6th. After living in Harrison for a few years, I am back in East Ridge. It feels good to be home.I worked fulltime up until 2 years ago and now I work even harder at home!! Volunteering at school and keeping up with an active daughter(cheerleading,scouts,music lessons,gymnastics and church)keeps me busy. I was diagnosed w/Breast Cancer this November(2001)and have recently undergone a radical mastectomy. With lots of prayers and positive thoughts, I will beat this thing.
I miss all you guys that stayed close for the following year or so after graduation. All the "Germantown" partyers! Rick Owens, Jeff Johnston,Robbie Moore,Andy Sanford,Larry Lockmiller,Keen Harris, etc..It amazes me that I never run into anybody.I did have a visit w/Shelley Johnson and it was great reliving memories! I missed the previous reunions but hope to go to the 15th. I hope to see everyone there!
*Updated on 2/20/02: We are moving!! We purchased a new home in Conway, Arkansas. Chris has been promoted to 3rd in his company and we have to relocate by the end of March. I will miss E.R. I plan on coming to the reunion if possible. I will be back in town every 3 months as I have to be checked out by my oncologist then. I have 2 more surgeries coming up and hope all goes well. Look at Catie in my Now pic. Isn't she a doll? I also posted a pic of me and Hunter. He is one spoiled rotton Dalmation.
*updated 3/18/07: We lived in AR for exactly 6 mths and had to move back. My cancer came back. Stage 3B and very aggressive. Started a study round of chemo in 10/02. The same weekend as the reunion! UGH! It was a rough 6mths of trtmt. that almost killed me. I spent the majority of the time in the hospital. You know all those statistics that are 99.8% of the people that may have this or that? Well I would be that 2%! I finall...Expand for more
y managed to live thru it all!
We moved to Ooltewah, close to Mckee, and we smell the cakes cookin (yum). Catie went to OMS and is now a freshman at OHS. She made the varsity squad there and also does a competition squad at a local gym. She eats, sleeps, breathes cheer! I had to go back to work just to maintain her hobby! She's an awesome kid, I could not have asked for better. Chris & I couldn't have more children. We had 5 miscarrages & 2 ectopic pregs & I had a hysterectomy in Nov '06.
We just built a house! Staying in Ooltewah tho. Excited and moving spring 07.
*updated 12/20/07: I had a great time seeing the handful of people that came out to the get-together to mark 20 years since graduation. Since there wasn't a reunion planned, I think the get-together was perfect and a great idea!! Thanks so much Larry, Jade and Michelle!
*updated 6/24/16 Wow! This update has been a long time coming! I haven't been on here in 9 years! A lot has happened in that time. I've battled breast cancer for a third time. AGAIN! Hopefully I'm done. I have no boobs of my own left! LoL! We are still in Ooltewah. Love it. Catie has since graduated high school, gotten her associates degree, is teaching high school (at Ringgold) and is still a professional student at UTC. One day we will be finished raising her ð She's been a blessing! We had the 25th reunion and saw so many people. It was wonderful. The joy of Facebook has been such a blessing (is that even a good thing to say? To bless a social media site?!) Without it, I/we would never be able to find so many friends that we lost contact with since high school. I mean, classmates, you tried!
Chris and I have celebrated 26 years of marriage and he is my rock. He is doing so well. Just got a HUGE promotion and now presides over the entire east coast and only answers to the president of the company. You go baby! I retired from my job back in 2014 so I could do my dream job of taking care of babies. Maybe someday I will have grandkids but there are none in my immediate future.
