I'm slowly taking over the world through my words, and recently beat cancer for the second time--non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. I keep my sense of humor and don't go to sleep any day unless I have laughed aloud at least once!
I've worked for years as a writer/editor for numerous newspapers and magazines, Avanti greeting cards, online ventures and many other places. As of 2021, I have 5 books under my belt, including one that was chosen at Amazon in December, 2020 as Book of the Week.
My books span from genealogy, a WWII one on the Navy that I co-wrote with my dad, ghost-writing for a well-known Reiki master, one about The Haven (a haunted mental institution) and one from 2018 called "Legends of Beer-League Hockey," by Curt Lesnau. Of course, I'm pretty sure my ideal job would be to work in my pajamas while writing the words that the entire world hangs the moon on. :)
I'm the divorced mom of three very talented young people--some of my best work. During 2016, I also became an "official" grandma to two darling twin girls, in addition to my three step-grandkids, who are my loves. From a dance/band/scout/parents' club/community volunteer mom, I am now filling that role as a grandmom--only with a few more naps...
I am an active advocate for cancer patients, community volunteer--including an elections official--se...Expand for more
rved as regent for a local Daughters of the American Revolution chapter, enjoy gardening and crafting, and travel when pandemics aren't threatening us all.
Writing and photography are my passion; check out some of my work on my website, wendyclem.net.
My byline varies per site, but look for Clemedia, CleMedia, Clem-Media, or Google Wendy Clem or Wendy Stevenson Clem for more info and many more links.
NOTE: I am NOT the Wendy Clem who is a Cheese Gourmet in San Francisco nor the Digital Scrapbooker in Tennessee. I have seniority on my name and claim it, despite having name twins!
In 2004, I finished my BFA in Communications, with a Major in Journalism from WSU--the same year I met Yoko Ono as well as George Harrison's sister (see my photos; George's parents were my pen-pals for more than 5 years). Before I graduated, I took a serial-killer class, but am still not sure if it was to study the 100+ murderers we did or to make us into killers.
I maintain a joie de vivre (translation: I appear to be 12) but people tell me I do seem younger than my years. I enjoy connecting with former classmates, arrange activities for a group from RHS and CBHS and many more types of people. I have quite evolved into The People Person, a natural place for a journalist to find herself, particularly a curious one.
Maybe that comes from having some freedom and finally finding my niche. Or, maybe I am the real Peter Pan.
Pop in and see for yourself.;P
