Wilfredo's Story
Life
Well, after graduating from high school, I headed off to the wild adventurous world of college. I attended UCLA as an (what else) Art Major. There I made many contacts and friends that helped mold my life today. I created a short animated film that got me a regional emmy award nomination, a Hanna-Barbera trophy and finally 1,000 dollars (mmmm...lots of macaroni and cheese for me --hey I was a poor college student you know).
After college I tried to pursue a career in animation. I was pitching shows to Hanna Barbera, while doing layout tests for the Simpsons and The Critic. Waiting for the results, I found myself taking a temp job at Walt Disney's Interactive group where I tested games (no really, it's a real job - paid well too). From there I was promoted to Game Design (where I made the games and someone else tested them. I also supplemented that income with a job as a syndicated Cartoonist for the newspapers. My comic strip was called Chaos (think Farside and you know what I mean). I was the artist while someone else wrote it. Fast forward to 2000. I was awaiting my results for my storyboard tests from the show Family Guy when Dragonstone came calling. There I was their Creative Director, in charge of Design department. We made or should I say remade Dragon's Lair into a 3d game for PS2, XBOX, and Nintendo. I even hired my good friend Travis to help out testing games. Boy did he hate doing that stuff. But it paid money so....Four years later I found myself living in Marina Del Rey, working for Electronic Arts. I worked as a cinematics artist and storyboard artist on their game, The Lord Of The R...Expand for more
ings: The Battle For Middle Earth. I'm still there, but as a contractor. I've also published a small independent comic book along with Travis.
Okay that's the boring part of it all. Now, I saw some of my schoolmates at the 99 reunion, but I could not attend the last one in Vegas(?)
I've kept in touch with many of my close friends, Travis, Roger, Jean, Shirley, Rina, Jose, etc. (please forgive me if I don't missed anyone, I got 2003 characters left). I've also kept in touch with many people from the 88'(my sister Sarah's group) and the 90' group.
Either than that, I'm just working enjoying life, and doing some experiments with film-making and doing 3d graphics.
I've tried some pretty wild things I never thought I'd do, like skydiving and scuba diving (bunjee? Heck no....no reserve bungee if it breaks). I hope to one day swim in a shark cage while a Great White Shark swims around me.
I love to play racquetball, if you like to play racquetball I'll give you a good game. Golf, I play that too, but I suck at it.
I'm single but dating. Guess I'm too busy at work sometimes, but I still like a good time. I've moved around a bit throughout the years (9 times to be exact). But for the moment, I'm here in the nice sunny city of Playa Del Rey. I like hanging out at the beach (where I like to relax and watch the waves go by). Tan? Nah, don't need one. Born with one you see.
In any case, that's all really for now. Many more adventures to experience. Lot of living still to do. But in a nutshell, that's my life so far. Would I change anything? Maybe, but what the hell would I do instead?
Wil....out.
