Life Short story.... After JA, I went to MC and studied biology premed. There got involved in music more. Met a girl sophomore year who I dated until graduation in 2000. After college I was accepted to medical school in Kansas City, MO. Christy and I married in '01 and left for med school. After a little more than a year there, my wife became very sick and finally i was forced to take leave from school for one year to care for her and to move home to get her near more family. After almost 4 years married, she collapsed to the floor one night in agony. ER Drs and even me, we all thought appendix. Surgery was put off until the next afternoon. Turns out, the appendix was fine, but her ovaries had produced hemmorhagic cysts that bled wel over half her blood volume. All that to say, that year I lost my wife and my best friend. The following year almost I will not talk about. It was basically a black hole in my life as I wasted away and it ended finally when I collapsed from malnutrition and dehydration. I was found quickly by neighbors not breathing and with hardly a pulse, seconds from death....which then, really I would have welcomed. With time and therapy I learned to deal with the loss and now even appreciate it for making me the man I am now. As part of healing, I began writing. Unknown to me, that was the beginning of a new life. I left Jackson and moved on to Nashville to escape the memories and to begin medical shool again at Vanderbilt. Upon movin here, I had been realizing that life is supposed to be so much more than money and earning letters to put behind your name.
