Willa's Story
I taught instrumental music in NYC for 1 1/2yr. and then in Kingston, NY for another 36 yrs and am now retired as of 2009. I play violin professionally with the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra and the Cambiata Chamber Players in the
Kingston area. I have 3 cats and a dog who I consider my babies. I do the "auntie" thing with my 5 sisters' 10 kids which range in ages 5 - 33 yrs old. (this basically means I spoil them). I had a wonderful "S.O." (significant other),
Anatole 'Tony' Colbert, for 21 years who died 10 years ago (re:acute respirat...Expand for more
ory disorder). I've had many students throughout the years who I consider my kids even though I've never actually had any of my own. I love hearing about their successes whether they're in music careers or not. I always aspired to be a performer (violinist) but I have to admit I have touched many more lives teaching than I ever would have as a performer. Now, as a retiree, I can fulfill my desire to perform. I enjoy every minute of retirement, playing violin, and spending time with nieces, nephews, and former students. I love my Life!
